What We Do
The New Horizon Fund is headquartered in Tallahassee and serves all Floridians with disabilities.
The assistive technology loan program serves consumers of all ages, however, the borrower must be at least 18 years of age. The home based business loan program is offered to those 18 and over. There are no income limits for applicants and all sources of income are considered. Those consumers that have damaged credit may also have the opportunity to qualify for a loan through the New Horizon Fund. Each application is evaluated individually.
The New Horizon Fund can help maximize other funding sources. For example, the service can provide a loan to a consumer who may not have a deductible in cash. In the case of a power wheelchair, which often costs over $10,000 – the New Horizon Fund can lend for the amount that insurance will not cover.
The New Horizon Fund can also partner with other agencies that provide funding to offer the consumer a complete package. For example, when working with Vocational Rehabilitation, a consumer may have their vehicle modification funded but not the vehicle. The New Horizon Fund can extend credit to the consumer to purchase a qualifying vehicle to be modified through Vocational Rehabilitation services.
Consumers can purchase all sorts of assistive technology including adaptive computers and software, low vision aids, and adaptive recreational equipment.
