About The New Horizon Loan Program

The New Horizon Loan Program originated through the U.S. Department of Education, Rehabilitation Services Administration and is a program within the Florida Alliance for Assistive Services and Technology, Inc., a not-for-profit 501(c)3 organization. The program is sponsored by the Florida Department of Education/Division of Vocational Rehabilitation and the State of Florida.

The program offers Floridians with disabilities credit opportunities while purchasing equipment and items that will improve their overall quality of life.

Assistive Technology Loan Program

One of the two components of the New Horizon Loan Recreational EquipmentProgram is an assistive technology loan program through which consumers can purchase all sorts of assistive technology including adaptive computers and software, low vision aids, and adaptive recreational equipment.

Business Loan Program

The New Horizon Loan Program's other component is a business loan program that can assist qualified persons with disabilities who are seeking employment through self-employment opportunities looking to purchase business equipment including computers, office furniture, and other business related purchases to help start and/or maintain a business. 

New Horizon Loan Program Administrative Policies and Procedures Manual

In accordance with New Horizon Loan Program Manual, the FAAST New Horizon Loan Program complies with the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) and will not disclose information regarding current and former applicants and borrowers unless otherwise required by federal/state law.

The FAAST NHL Program will retain all records pertinent to loan applications and loans in accordance with applicable state laws and regulations and FAAST’s record retention policies and procedures.
